What’s Happening in NSW?
National Science Week is a chance to celebrate science and scientific innovation around NSW and the country.
In 2008 a wide range of science, technology and engineering events and activities will unfold across the state from August 16 to August 24. Whatever you do, wherever you are, there are opportunities to find out what’s happening in your community and get involved. Why not be part of the action and celebrate science by doing something for National Science Week 2008?

Engaging Indigenous Secondary Students from Rural NSW in Science
Macquarie University
This project will train Year 9-12 students to teach Year 7 and 9 students and the broader community, about an aspect of science. They will perform a hands-on activity and then explain the science behind the activity. This project will be presented in Casino and Maclean.
Climate Change Science-Give me the facts!
NSW DET Taronga Zoo Education Centre
At Taronga Zoo in Sydney and at Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo; research scientists, Zoo research staff and comedians will present a student workshop and a public hypothetical.
