National Science Week 2008 In QLD
National Science Week is an opportunity for all Queenslanders to take part in a range of events and activities surrounding science, technology and engineering.
Whether you are a teacher, employer, student or just someone interested in science, there are so many ways to get involved.
Queensland National Science Week Coordinating Committee
Over the past eight years a volunteer Queensland National Science Week Coordinating Committee (QNSWCC) has assumed the responsibility for the planning, coordination, communication and event manager of National Science Week in Queensland. In 2008 the committee aims to build on existing partnerships and initiate more opportunities for the science community, industry and QLD public to engage in National Science Week.
Why not showcase science at your organisation? Or else, just engage with what our state has to offer. Whatever you choose, wherever you are, don’t miss out on National Science Week in QLD!

Brainwaves at the Ekka
7th August-16th August
A major activity during the week leading up to the National Science Week is the Brainwaves at the Ekka festival. This is an excellent opportunity for like minded groups/organisation to promote and enhance awareness of science, engineering and technology within the broader community as part of a key even on the National Science Week calendar in Queensland. This is an initiative that is organised and facilitated by the QNSWCC. Over 25,000 people engaged with our exhibit at the Ekka last year and we anticipate many more will attend this year as we will offer a much larger science showcase as well as being incorporated as part of the Ekka’s Education program promoted through schools.
